Notes: The 2007-08 campaign delivered a season of spectacular promise and heartbreaking collapse for Arsenal as The Gunners, fielding an incredibly young squad, led the Premier League table for two-thirds of the season. The team played a beautiful brand of attacking, fluent football, spearheaded by the phenomenal Emmanuel Adebayor, whose 30 goals across all competitions were a career-best haul (24 in the league). A five-point lead was ultimately relinquished after a crucial run of four consecutive draws in the wake of Eduardo's horrific injury and captain William Gallas' infamous on-pitch meltdown. Despite the crushing disappointment of finishing 3rd with a record 83 points, the season defined the immense, yet ultimately unfulfilled, potential of Arsène Wenger's young side.
